Beware of scammers
Scam attempts related to hotel accommodations and event registration are increasingly common. ADLM is committed to helping you stay protected. Please review the important information below to ensure you do not fall victim to these deceptive practices.
Official ADLM vendor partners
ADLM works exclusively with the following official vendor partners:
- Freeman – General Contractor
- Maritz (formerly CDS) – Registration Services
- SPARGO, Inc. – Housing & Exhibitor Services

Any company or individual claiming to represent ADLM as an official vendor, without formal authorization, is not recognized by ADLM.
Registration scams
Only Maritz is officially authorized to provide registration services for the ADLM Annual Meeting.
Please be aware that companies other than Maritz are not affiliated with ADLM. These unauthorized entities may accept payment but do not complete registration, leaving individuals unregistered and at risk of financial loss.
For your security, always register directly through ADLM and Maritz to ensure your participation is properly confirmed. ADLM does NOT add taxes and/or handling fees to registration.
Hotel scams
ADLM hotel room blocks are available exclusively through SPARGO, Inc., our official housing vendor.
Please be aware that third-party “room brokers” have falsely claimed affiliation with conferences and events. This has led to serious issues for attendees and exhibitors, including:
- Arriving without a valid hotel reservation
- Losing deposits or prepayments
- Having no recourse to recover lost funds
To protect your reservation and avoid these risks, book housing only through SPARGO, Inc.
Misleading methods
- You receive a phone call; ADLM will never call to make your hotel reservation.
- You are asked to pay via Paypal, etc.; ADLM only asks for a credit card to guarantee.
- You are asked to pay the entire amount upfront; ADLM does not take payment upfront for hotel rooms.
If anything more is being asked of you when making a hotel reservation, please be aware it is not coming from the official housing provider for ADLM and could be a fraud.
List rental scams
Fraudulent organizations may attempt to sell attendees, or exhibitor lists for the ADLM Annual Meeting. These solicitations are scams. While they may misuse ADLM’s name, logo, or event branding to appear legitimate, they are not affiliated with ADLM.
ADLM does not rent, share, or sell attendee or exhibitor contact information. All known scams are reported to the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC), and we encourage you to report suspicious activity as well:
Report a scam to the U.S. Federal Trade Commission fraud division.
Unaffiliated vendors
The following companies are not affiliated with ADLM and should be considered fraudulent. ADLM does not endorse or guarantee any products or services offered by these organizations.
Known examples of unaffiliated vendors include, but are not limited to:
Aspire2, BTB Data Mart, Cloud Data 9, Data Provider Show Attendees, Evenstat, Eventztour, Firstdata Solution, Global Data, Globalbiz Media, Good Data Solution, Happy Data Provider, Infoglobal Techs, Infoproperfect, Intraxpo4, Online Data List, Opt-in Prospects, Product Business Leads, Rapid Continental, Tech Data Info Hub, and others.

If you receive solicitations from companies not listed as official ADLM vendors, please forward them to custserv@myadlm.org so we can track and report these scams.
What to do if targeted by a scammer
In case you encounter or receive fraudulent websites, e-mails etc:
Ignore completely and do not communicate with them in any way. Writing letters and responding to e-mails simply confirms that you exist and are available at the (e-mail) address or phone number they have. They will therefore continue to contact you.
- Alert us immediately: custserv@myadlm.org
- Do not pay anything
- Do not communicate with the scammers even when they threaten legal action
Any questions? Contact custserv@myadlm.org for assistance.
